Michelle Kosoy
Head of Development & WALNUT KITCHEN
Michelle is a small & mighty lady. At Castlewood she is a triple threat: Our resident expert in Health, Wellness & Media. Michelle, a registered Holistic Nutritionist, not only leads Castlewood’s development team, she also runs WALNUT KITCHEN, her own business focussed on helping support, nurture and guide you to live your best life – a life full of strength, vitality and optimal health.
Michelle brings to both WALNUT KITCHEN and CASTLEWOOD over 2 decades of experience from production and broadcasting roles she’s held in North America (Shaw, Canwest, Alliance Atlantis, CBC) and Europe (NBC, CBC). She’s fluent in the language of factual & lifestyle programming, as well as news & current affairs. Before joining Castlewood Productions, Michelle was the Director of Programming and Scheduling at Shaw Media. There, she successfully met and exceeded AMA targets while helping to oversee 8 specialty channels including History, National Geographic, National Geographic Wild, Slice, HGTV, DIY, TVTropoliis and Twist.
Prior to her stint at Shaw, Michelle was a Director of Original Programming and Executive in Charge of Programming at Canwest & Alliance Atlantis where she managed millions of original programming dollars, while helping to commission and develop dozens of shows for HGTV, Food Channel, & Slice Networks. Michelle started her illustrious TV career in news and current affairs. As overnight desk editor of the NBC London bureau, she was part of a team co-ordinating news coverage for the Nightly News and Today Show. From the CBC London bureau, she also produced features and interviews for CBC’s legendary program The Journal and eventually made her way back to Toronto where she continued producing at The Journal and Midday. Michelle’s journalistic roots and broadcasting experience have given her a strong foundation for telling great stories and for digging up great characters.
When she’s not making TV, Michelle is found in her WALNUT KITCHEN, making nutritious goodies for herself and her clients. She loves to indulge in good food, fashion and (guilty pleasure) occasional episodes of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.” Oh, and ask her where to eat in town, she’ll give you the best suggestions!
