Rick Watts

Production Supervisor

Don’t let the elusive Rick Watts fool you.  He’s been with Castlewood since the beginning. No, not since the Big Bang, but since the formation of the company in early 2008.

Rick’s interest in television entertainment began soon after completing film studies at York University, Toronto and The National Film School in England. As a Production Manager with Glen-Warren Productions and Associate Producer/Studio Director for CFTO-Television in Toronto, Rick honed his practical and creative skills in all types of production. In 1990 he moved to a fledgling YTV Canada as Supervising Producer and later as Director of Production.  Remember YTV’s “Uh Oh!”?  Yep, that was ALL Mr. Watts!

Rick has been working as a freelance Line Producer and Production Manager since 2001 and remains committed to entertainment programming. In addition to his work at Castlewood Productions, Rick has his own prodco: Haltwhistle Entertainment.

When Rick isn’t bugging everyone for deal memos or invoices, he spends most of his time antiquing or working in his shop.  To say he’s a wood-working fanatic would be an understatement.  With a vast collection of 20 hand saws and over 120 moulding planes, he’s constructed over 9 pieces of furniture in his home.  How he ever leaves the shop and STILL makes it to work before anyone is beyond us.
